Top 13 Products of 2013

Hey huns!
So 'tis New Years Eve which means tomorrow is 2014. Uh oh...

But anywho! I decided as the last post of 2013 I would do my top 13 products of 2013.

1. Naked 2 Palette
I have used this so so much this year. It's a really handy palette as I was able to take it with me for the four times I travelled out of the country this year.

2. Collection Concealer
(sorry I can't remember the full name)
This is an amazing concealer. I've been so surprised by it and I need to repurchase it!

3.Bourjois Healthy Mix Powder
I've used this so much this year that I've nearly finished it right to the pan! I did try the MAC Mineralised Skin Finish, but that caked far too easily and made me break out after a while. I (obviously) reverted back to this WONDERFUL powder.

4. Viva la Juicy La Fleur
I love this eau de toilette so much. It smells beautiful and is really distinctive too.

5. Garden of good and Eva by Benefit
Another smelly thing. I know I've had it for ages at this stage, but its still my go to perfume everyday because its not overwhelming at all.

6. Kiko Lipstick
Bought this in October and OH MY GOD. I love the colour and the consistency It also stays on for ages. (I should probably do a review)

7. Urban Decay Naked Skin Foundation
I only bought this back in October, but its quickly turned into a favourite of mine. It's very light and very buildable. It also fits my (light) skin colour to a tee!

8. Revlon Lip Butter
Very much the same texture and consistency as the Kiko lipstick, I wore this a lot for school this year. It's non drying and has a lovely colour.

9. Real Techniques Expert Face Brush
I bought this over the summer. It works so well for blending my foundation and leaves no brush marks like my other foundation brush does.

10. Maybelline Baby Lips in 'Cherry Me'
I was skeptical whether they would live up to the hype, but by far Cherry Me is the only one I've used on a regular basis. It gives the best colour of the lot, and moisturises well.

11. Nars blush in 'Deep Throat'
I also bought this in October in Sephora. I almost squealed when I saw the Nars stall in the shop as the only place in Ireland you can get Nars is either online or in Brown Thomas. In Dublin.
This blusher is amazing and also stays on for ages.
(I feel like I've said that a lot in this post.)

12. MAC Lipsticks
I bought my first MAC lipstick back in February which feels like absolutely ages ago. Except its not. These lipsticks don't dry my lips at all and are so pigmented.

13. Nivea Lip Butters
(In general)
I know that people either love or hate these. I for one, love them. They don't stay on for long but are perfect as a base for lipsticks as they stop your lips drying out. I have three which are Vanilla Macedamia (pictured above), Caramel Cream & Raspberry Rosé. They also smell fantastic which is also great!

So those are my top 13 products of 2013 and I hope you enjoyed this post!
Also, I want to wish you all a happy new year and say thank you for reading my blog and watching my videos.

#ChristmasBloggers || FINAL POST! What I got for Christmas

Sadly, Christmas has been and gone, which means this is the last post of #ChristmasBloggers 2013! :((
So, although two days late I'm leaving my 'What I got for Christmas 2013' video below as I don't have time to take pictures. I hope you enjoy and I hope you had a merry Christmas!

Tuesday 24 December 2013

IT'S CHRISTMAS EVE

AHHH NO NEED FOR ANY INTRO BECAUSE IT'S CHRISTMAS EVE WHICH MEANS TOMORROW IS CHRISTMAS WHICH MEANS GIVING GIFTS AND EATING YUMMY FOOD AHHHH.
ahem.
okay.

Hey huns!
So as I said it is Christmas eve. I am so unbelievably excited! Christmas is by far my favourite time of year. I can't wait for my mam, dad and brother to open the presents I got them!

I don't actually make a list anymore, I usually just ask for one big-ish thing and let Santy do the rest! But this year I am asking for a new phone (preferably an iPhone) as my iPod is three years old and the battery dies after half an hour of using it, and also my current phone is really laggy, glitchy and crashes all the time. So a phone would be nice! I have also chosen a few makeup things as well which I can't wait to finally have.

I really hope you all have a safe and lovely Christmas and I'll blog soon!

#ChristmasBloggers || Last Minute GIft Guide!

Hey huns!
So who can believe that its only three more days to CHRISTMAS!!! This one is a gift guide and although I have already a post on a gift guide for her and a video, I thought I'd do another for more DIY ideas and quick things because you might not be able to get to the shops.

I think this would be such a cute idea for anyone! It's super quick and easy, you just need a mug, marshmallows, candy canes & hot chocolate. (I can get all of this in my local shop) Its not at all expensive either, which is a bonus if you're on a budget!

I think this idea would suit ANYONE!
What you do is get a stocking and fill it up with an array of food, sweets, fizzy drinks etc. Or even just food in general, for example I bought my Da a big box of Fererro Rocher. Also, selection boxes work too!
So this one is definitely cheap cheap! But its the thought that counts, right?
You could also use a YouTube or Spotify playlist. This is a nice gift for friends and family as you can put all they're favourite songs on a CD and whenever they listen to it, they'll think of you!
(Cheesy I know)

So those are my easy last minute ideas for those who don't or can't go to the busy shops last minute! I hope you enjoyed the post.

Favourite Christmas Songs || #ChristmasBloggers Series!

Hey huns!
Jane at Dorky, Fizzy & Quirky Stuff has made her own Christmas blogging series called #ChristmasBloggers. I thought this was such a good idea seeing as blogmas is too daunting and overwhelming!

This is the first post which will be favourite Christmas songs!

I love listening to Christmas playlists on my iPod and on Spotify. (I'm listening right now!)

My favourite Christmas song is a toss up between Winter Song, Merry Christmas Everyone & I Wish It Could Be Christmas Everyday (two oldies but goldies!). My parents love the two old ones, and last year myself and one of my bestfriends were OBSESSED with singing Winter Song.

My favourite carol is O Holy Night! I don't know why but it just is!

Also, any Michael Bublé Christmas songs are just fab.

So I hope you enjoyed the first of the #ChristmasBloggers posts, make sure you check out the other bloggers taking part too!

Christmas Gift Guide Under €15 - for Her

Hey huns!
Remember me? Understandable if you don't considering the last time I posted was the 10th November. My assessments are finally over (the work did pay off!) So hopefully I'll catch up a bit more on blogging and YouTube!

This is my gift guide under €15 for her! I should be filming a video version this weekend which should be up next week.

I have made three categories for this: Girly, technology related items and cosy!

Girly

A really nice gift for any girly girl is a skincare set! The example is by Nivea and includes a lip butter, hand cream and shower gel. Most girls like to treat themselves and it even comes with a cute vanity case. I know that if I got something like this I would be really happy!

Vaseline Pink Crest Lip Tin which you can get in Boots, Superdrug or even Tesco.

I got two of my friends one of these each last year and they loved them! Vaseline is one of my favourite lip balms and getting three along with a big pink Vaseline tin is a beauty lovers dream.
(Well, not necessarily, but it would be nice!)

Everybody that I know loves Lush and the smell of lush! I bought my friends the individual Santa bath bombs from this set last year. The Santa one is amazing because when it fizzes up, the water is left a dark green colour! Smells great too.

Not Girly
Sort of things you'd give to your not-so-girly friend who is a tom boy/techy/nerdy girl.
CD's from HMV all €12.99

I love music, and I'm sure any girl who isn't totally girly would too. My picks are Lorde's new album, Lady Gagas new album and my absolute album of the year, AM by the Arctic Monkeys.

The Santa Clause (Trilogy I suppose?), It's A Wonderful Life, Mama

Movies are a great gift. All these movies are amazing. Mama is more for those who like freaky horror movies. It's a Wonderful Life is a classic that everyone should own. (Black and white version is better!) And the Santa Clause is just a feel good family Christmas movie, and in fact my favourite Christmas movie. Other good movies are The Hunger Games, La Orphanata (Spanish horror movie) & The Nightmare before Christmas.

iTunes vouchers

These are a good gift if you have no idea and are absolutely stuck! They are a really good present to receive in all fairness. Amazon vouchers are also good for anyone with a Kindle.

Cosy
Onesie from NewLook

At this time of year, I live in onesies. Literally.
Fleecey ones are best as they are ensured to keep you cosy! Anyone would love a onesie and I feel they are a must.

Blanket with arms from New Look

I got a snuggie-like blanket last year for Christmas and oh my lord. One of the best presents ever! They keep you so warm and you are still able to use your hands like a normal human being without getting cold arms.

Hats and scarf all from New Look

Who doesn't love a hat and scarf as a present? They keep you warm cosy AND fashionable!
The burgundy hat and scarf are great colours for A/W, and the festive hat is such a cute novelty present!

So that is my Christmas Gift Guide under €15 for her! I hope you enjoyed this post and found it somewhat helpful!

October Favourites 2013

Hey huns!
I am really sorry about not posting or uploading, but our internet stopped working, and even now its a bit iffy. I'll try and upload as often as I can now, hopefully!

So yes, October is GONE! YES!
This means that we are a month closer to Christmas and very soon the season will be in full swing. But any who, on with my favourites for the month that just passed.
Boing Concealer

I bought this about a month ago now. The coverage of this concealer is really good and is said to be an industrial concealer (on the packaging).

Catrice Made To Stay Cream Eyeshadow in Copper & Gabanna

This has been in my favourites before! I love this so much and recently I've started using it again. It is a perfect coppery bronze colour with a hint of shimmer. It also stays on for a long time.

Mini Hairbrush & Mirror

I went on a school tour this month (hopefully a post about that to come) and I brought this everywhere. It was so handy! I could brush my fringe and reapply my lippie on the bus no bother!

Dory from Finding Nemo (Disney Store)

I bought this in Venice in the Disney Store. There were so many different ones to chose from, from Simba to Toy Story characters. All the different stuffed toys were originally €28, and were reduced to €15! How could I not pass up Dory? So soft too!

Sephora bag

When on the tour, we went to two cities which both had Sephora! How could I not go?
I went twice and bought one thing each time. I haven't used them enough to know if they're a favourite, but I do believe they will be. There was Nars, Too Faced, Urban Decay, Bare Minerals along with Sephora's own brand of makeup. We were spoilt for choice!

Another shop is Kiko Cosmetics. This shop was also a cosmetics shop, but was so cheap! I went three times (oops) and bought things the three times! The quality of their products are amazing for the price. I'll have a haul up soon.(hopefully!)

So those are my favourites. I'm sorry there wasn't much, but I hope you enjoyed it anyway!

QUICK UPDATE

Hey huns!
This is a quick update as to why I haven't been posting. The internet in our house has been going off and on constantly for nearly two weeks now and it has finally been fixed. I'll try to have a video up by the end of the week (fingers crossed!) so I am so sorry for being totally MIA. Can't wait to catch up on blogging and vlogging again!

Fall/Autumn & Birthday Haul!

hey huns!
This video is long over due and I am so sorry about that! I had an amazing birthday this year, by far the best yet! I don't think I've laughed so much on any other birthday. My friends and family made it so special this year and I am so grateful for everything they have done for me.

Also, I forgot to mention that I also got a new camera for my birthday! I got a Nikon D3100 and a surprise 32gb memory card. This hopefully means my videos are better quality. I also didn't mention that my brother got me a huge tea cup that is so pretty. I am so thankful for everything I got so please don't take it as bragging.
I hope you enjoy the video!

My Top 5....

Hey Huns!
So I have decided that every month I will do a new post called 'My Top 5'. This will be a new sort of series about my top five favourites (in no particular order) for music, TV, etc. For September, I will be discussing

My Top 5...
Music Groups, Bands & Singers

1. The Glitch Mob
This is a glitch hop group. Glitch hop is a genre of music, a bit like EDM. I first discovered the Glitch Mob about a year and a half ago and since then I've been hooked. My favourite songs by them are 'We Can Make the World Stop' and 'A Dream Within a Dream'.
Absolutely obsessed.
2. Bruno Mars
You more than likely know who he is! I have LOVED him ever since Doo Wops and Hooligans. I tried to get tickets for his concert, but they sold out so so quick! Me and my friend were gutted. My favourite songs by him are, well, pretty much all of them!

3. Everything Everything
I have been obsessed with their album Arc ever since it came out. They're an indie band from England. For the first time in a long time, I can listen to a full album without disliking a song.

4. Muse
They are such an amazing band. I've been to see them in concert and it was amazing (Obvs). I've loved them since I was younger too.

5. Lana Del Rey
I love her album Born to Die so much. She's such an amazing singer. I used to not like her because I thought she was depressing, but I actually really like her music now!

I know its a bit different to my usual stuff, but I might incorporate beauty top fives too. I hope you enjoyed this post!

Reviewed: MAC Lipsticks

Hey Huns!

So just a quick thing to say sorry that there will be no video this weekend. My school does assessments which make up your Christmas mark. These usually consist of very large chapters that you have to revise and they have taken a HUGE chunk out of my down time. Hopefully I'll have a video next week.
(I MIXED UP THE WORDING FOR PINK NOUVEAU AND GIRL ABOUT TOWN. OTHER WAY AROUND SORRY!!! Feeling dumb because I replaced the original picture with this one...)

Babbling over and on with the review!
I purchased my first MAC lipstick back in February and I have been in love ever since! The colours I have are so different and wearable. Milan Mode is more opaque where as Girl About Town and Pink Nouveau are more of a fulller colour. These lipsticks have such great stay. Whenever I wear them, I feel as if I never have to re-apply them that often. The colours are always super pigmented and it is one of the things I really love about them. Saying this, sometimes I have to wear a lip balm underneath because numero uno: I suffer from dry lips and numero dos: they then look awful.
I have to say, everything about these lipsticks are perfect, from the pigmentation to the packaging. I would definitely recommend them although they are quite expensive, but a good investment!
I hope you liked this *late* post! And I will hopefully have a video next weekend.

How to: Heart Kneed Jeans!

Hey huns!
This is a quick and easy DIY on how to put hearts on the knees of your jeans! Its so simple and quick, the longest part being the drying time for the hearts! Sorry that this isn't a proper post, school has been so hectic lately. Also, I won't be doing a favourites for August because I feel its too late now.

I hope you enjoy the video!

Quinceañera

Hey Huns!

SO this is a bit of a different post, but I thought it was relevant because I (and other bbloggers) am turning 15 on Friday (the thirteenth).
A quinceañera is celebrated in most Latin countries and is more important than any other birthday because it is where a girl transitions from childhood to womanhood.

Thats a quick definition from what I understand. The whole thing of celebrating them has fascinated me since my trip to Cuba when a tour guide told us about his daughters quinceanera.

The ceremonies vary from country to country, but most are pretty much the same. There is a ceremony in a church and then the family and friends go to a venue where there is lots of dancing, cake etc. Two of the rituals I like is where the birthday girl has a father daughter dance and the other is where the girls flat shoes are changed to high heels, symbolising that she is a woman. Another thing that is part and parcel with the party is the big beautiful dresses (which in my opinion looks like princess dresses) and the tiara.

Quinceanera's seems like such a beautiful way to celebrate, much nicer than the sweet sixteen that is glorified on MTV.

When researching this post, I found this mini documentary which you should check out if you want to get a better idea of what it looks like.(Click here)

I know this was a different kind of post, but it really does interest me and I thought it might interest others whose quinceanera is on the horizon. I hope you enjoyed this post and I'll see you in my next video or blogpost!

Birthday Wishlist

Hey Huns!
So this day two weeks I'm going to be turning 15! (Yes, on Friday the 13th...) This isn't really as big a mile stone as 16, but in Latin countries, when you turn 15 you get a quinceanera. I have been thinking about things I *maybe* would like, and I thought I'd share it with you!

1. Danisnotonfire t-shirt from redbubble
I love this! I was looking for one of Dan and Phil, but I think I like this one too much!

2. MAC Lipstick in Violetta
I might save my money to buy this. Its such a pretty pretty purple colour.

3. NYX matte lipstick in Shocking Pink
I love pink lipsticks and have been on the hunt for a matte one!

4. Creepers
I might just get a pair from Penneys to be honest! I have a burgundy pair, but I think a black pair would go with more outfits.

5. Soap & Glory Hand Food
I have heard so many bloggers and vloggers RAVE about this product, so naturally I'm dying to try it.

6. Essie "Lilacism"
Oh how I have been admiring this nail polish! I don't like purple nail polish, but lilacy pastels like this? NEEEEEEE.

So that was just a wee bit of sharing there! Obviously I'm not going to get everything there, it's just a few things I desire! Have a good weekend huns!

Juggling blogging, exams and other things in life!

Hey Huns!
So sadly I go back to school tomorrow!

(*sob* *sob*)
For me, this year is going to be a lot of work because it is my Junior Cert year. (Junior Cert is the Irish version of GCSE's.)
This means that although its my hobby and I absolutely totally love it, blogging is going to have to come second to school work.
So thats why I have decided to do a post on being organised because I know a lot of my fellow bloggers are going through their exams this year too.

1. Have a schedule and stick to it
I am starting to do this. I'll hopefully be posting every Saturday with a video or blog post. (I probably started YouTube at a bad time to be honest, but anyway!)

2. Have a timetable for studying
I know I'll be doing this! This will give me a good idea of how much time I then have to practice piano and/or relax.

3. Get a blogging notebook
I have one! This is so so handy because I am able to plan posts and jot down ideas. Also, closer to exams this will help because you might be able to schedule some posts.

4. Be prepared for exams
Don't leave studying to the last minute. Always make sure you feel as if you have done everything you can.

5. Don't overstudy
We all need downtime. Down time for me includes blogging or making videos because it's fun AND relaxing.

I hope this post was somewhat useful! I might do a "First Day At School" post tomorrow. And hopefully I will finally upload my Back to School hair and makeup for those days you're in a rush (Bit late, but better late than never?)

End Of Summer Haul Part 2

Hey Huns!
This is part two of my end of summer haul! This is the beauty, makeup, penguins, etc part.

By the way, I had filmed both at the same time, but when I looked at the footage, it turned out my head was cut off from the film so yeah... awkward. I hope you enjoy the video!

This is the clothing and accessories part of the haul and part two (Makeup, beauty, penguins etc.) will be up in a day or two. I hope you enjoy!

**Update**

Hey Huns!
So I was meant to have a video uploaded and ready for today so I had it uploading while I was sleeping. I don't know why, but when I came downstairs this morning, my laptop was in the log in screen, and the video had stopped uploading. I'll try and get the video up within the next day or two. Sorry!

Maybelline Baby Lips Review

Hey Huns!
So right now I'm blogging with my iPod so excuse the bad formatting!
I finally got a Maybelline Baby Lips after much anticipation! I was a tiny bit apprehensive considering the hype that it might not be as good as its made out to be. Glad I was wrong!
The one I got was Cherry Me which I got for £2.99 in Boots (England, seeing as its almost impossible to find in Ireland at the minute.) The packaging is bright and good for the environment! (RECYCLE!)
My first impression was that it smells amazing. It doesn't taste like cherries though. It doesn't taste like anything actually.
The balm itself gives a lovely redish tint to my lips as long as a subtle sheen. I can feel it on my lips for ages which is good because at least I don't have to reapply it too often.
All in all, I love this lip balm - cant wait to hopefully try the rest!
I hope you enjoyed this post :)

July Favourites!

hey huns!
SO at long long last, I am FINALLY posting my July favourites! (woo!)The video will be uploaded later so subscribe to my channel - it's going to be my first public video and im actually really excited about that! This post is going to be just beauty favourites, the random ones are in my video.
On with the favourites!

1.Maybelline Mega Plush Mascara - this is a lovey mascara. It doesn't tug on my lashes and the formula doesn't leave them feeling hard and untouchable.
2. Rimmel Apocalips in Nova - I already have the one in Celestial, and I bought this in Penneys (Dublin) for 3-4 euro, so it was way cheaper than usual. I love the colour and stays on my lips for ages.
3. Maybelline 14hr Super Stay Lipstick in Infinitely Fuschia - I love this. It stays for ages and is such a bright pretty colour. I'll more than likely be wearing this into the A/W.
4. MAC lipstick in Girl About Town - This is also a really pretty bright pink. Like the maybelline one, it too stays for ages. I absolutely love this lipstick and wore it like crazy.
5. MAC Paintpot in Rubenesque - This is a gold cream eyeshadow with lovely salmon-pink undertones. It works really well as a base or on its own. I have worn this nearly every day of July and I absolutely love it.
6. Urban Decay Naked 2 Palette - I've been loving this palette for doing smokey eyes. (Tutorial?) Its so handy to have the colours all in the one place. I've mostly been using Blackout, Chopper, Snakebite and Half Baked.

1. Lush Happy Hippy Shower Gel - I love this shower gel! It has such a subtle yet lovely citrus smell. It can also be used as a shampoo, but my main use for it was as a shower gel.
2. Viva La Juicy La Fleur - This is a really nice smelling eau de toillette. I got it going through the airport when coming back from holidays and I've worn it non stop since!
3. Aussie Colour Mate Conditioner - I had the ends of my hair bleached and since then I've dyed my ends pink. This conditioner works really well because the dye said 6-8 washes, and it still isn't washed out after about 10 washes which is great. And it smells good too.

Favourite Songs
So my camera ran out of battery before I could mention it. I have a lot of favourites this month, so I made a YouTube playlist.

I hope you enjoyed this post! I'll edit this post again and put in the video later. Until then!

*Update*

Hey Huns!
So I thought I'd have WiFi while I was away, but guess what. There was none.
I was gone for three weeks (I can't say where - sorry!) and I had scheduled posts. I can't wait to get back into blogging again!

Over the past month I feel as if I haven't had as many people as I'd like reading my blog. I love blogging so much, but I feel as if no one is reading it. I just don't know what to do!

I should have my July favourites filmed and uploaded within the next week or so, sorry they're late.

Review: OPI Nail Polish "No Room For The Blues"

hey huns!
so going through duty free there was an OPI stand. Their nail polishes are about a tennar each and the one I chose was "No Room For The Blues".

The bottle is lovely, and there seems to be loads of product in it. I am in love with the colour. It is a bit darker than the colour in the bottle after the second coat. It chipped after about 4 days without a top coat which I think is outstanding. It doesn't dry the quickest, so even though I'm really impatient I had to sit for a while to let it dry. All in all, it's a beautiful colour and the consitency is thicker than I thought it would be. I really want to try more of their nail polishes, and I'd definitely reccommend this one.
