April Obsessions

hey huns!
MONTHLY OBSESSIONS! at last, we are nearly done with spring, (bye bye til next year!) and almost on to summer. almost.
But before then, we have a whole month to get through. So heres this months monthly obsessions!

I have been doing loads of crafty stuff this month and i have used this so much! so handy! its a stanley hot glue gun. The glue dries super fast and is really handy for crafts etc.

I love my bear case. I still have to name it though.

So this is a lipgloss from Revlon. I have been wearing this everyday to school and it has amazing stay. Seriously, I put this on at 8:00 am and it doesn't come off until I eat at break time. So impressed and i'll definitely be getting this in other colours.

Instead of my brushes for foundation and concealer I have been using this sponge from No7. It works really well, especially if its a bit damp then it gives a real airbrushed look. Really makes me want to try a beauty blender!

Do I even have to say anymore?

You may think I overhype this product, but its just because I love it SO FRICKIN MUCH! I always use it and it never faults me.

This is a Maybelline Colour Tattoo in "Eternal Gold". You have to use a primer, because it does go a bit patchy, but otherwise this colour is so pretty with a subtle shimmer. It also works great as a base.

I sort of went off using eyelash curlers for a while as I felt they really did nothing, but I learned a tip (thank you YouTube) that if you use your hairdryer to heat it up, it works amazingly.

The POREfessional from Benefit is really good. It keeps my makeup on all day. Mine is only tester, but I think i will definitely spend the minute for a full sized one.

The holy grail.

DEFINITELY worth the hype. I have been using this everyday for school and it is so good! The colours are so pigmented and pretty. Love!

Busy

Hey Huns!
So I am sure that LOADS of people are studying in preparation of summer exams, junior cert, etc, but through all the business and stress you have to take breaks and slow down. So this is my guide to life while studying!

1. Make a timetable
So important. This makes sure everything is all timed out so that you have time for you, a social life, unicorn farming, etc. this is the FIRST thing you do when getting ready for exams.

2. Don't overload
It depends for different people how long they can study before taking a break or losing concentration. I can go 45-60mins before I have to just stop for 5/10minutes , get a drink or listen to music. So schedule those in too!

3. Sleep!
More sleep = More concentration. You'll be able to do so much more if you've had a good nights sleep and are refreshed and ready.

4. Make notes
As you go along, write down bullet points, key words, anything that helps you to remember stuff. You'll be thankful before exam time.

5. Don't cram the night/week before
Bad idea. This will tire you out, leaving you fit for nothing. Info doesn't go into your brain as easily then.

Ok, so that was a different post to my usual of beauty and stuff, but its sort of fitting considering the time of year it is. (Exam time) so I hope this helped at least one of you.

Krafty Kate: Lace & Pearls

Hey Huns!
So the last Thursday over Easter break I went into town with my friends and she needed to get stuff for Home Ec in the fabric shop (I don't do Home Ec FO YO INFO!) and I thought I might as well see if they had any lace because it is super expensive to get on amazon between shipping etc. I bought 4 yards - more than you'd think it'd be - for 80c a yard. Total = €3.20 + happy me :) .
The following day i decided to get crafty and customise a few things, and this is the aftermath.
The first thing I did was stick pearls on a pair of cat eye sunglasses from Penneys. The left side turned out better than the right, so I have to stick some of the pearls back on.

For the light wash shorts I did a sort of triangle with the lace and stuck it on with my trusty hot glue gun. I also embellished with pearls from amazon. And now they look like this.

For the dark wash shorts I just stuck random pearls on with the front and stuck lace on one of the back pockets.

I am super happy with how they turned out and I cannot wait to wear them for summer!

Spring Collective Haul

Hey huns!
I feel like I haven't done a proper bigish haul in a long time, so I decided I would do a collective spring haul!

penneys

Ok, I am so frickin excited for summer, and penneys is a great fuel for my excitement. All the shorts and flip flops and dresses and tshirts and ANYTHING summery is in at the minute. I just can't wait.

First thing I picked up are these dark wash denim shorts (which I customised on Friday - pictures of that next sunday!). I featured these in my St Patricks day outfit post. They are so comfy, and were only fiver.

These are so pretty! First I love the lilac colour, and then there's the stud detailing, I just can't. They are quite short, but they'll be grand with tights! 

Then there's this sleeveless collared shirt. I'm not head over heels in love with this right now because the weather isn't super warm to wear this without a cardigan or jumper, but if, sorry, when the weather warms up, this will be lovely.

H&M

There's only a small H&M near me, and by near, 50 miles away & whenever I am near this shop, I always go. The last few times, I've been disappointed because there is absolutely nothing I liked. But this time I found three things that I am in love with.

As soon as I got there, I saw the rail full of skater skirts in green, polka dot, stripey, bergundy, black, etc. This is a black one but the fabric is velvet, so it falls really nicely.

The next thing is this long sleeved lace top. I am a bit obsessed with lace at the minute, and had to get this when I saw it.

It's an iPod case in the shape of a bear! I had to get a new one, because my Kate Spade one started ripping (its 2 years old). Its so adorable, I love it!

I got a new bedspread too! Its by Catherine Lansfield, but as well as it being floral, its also polka dots on the other side!

I got all of this stuff after I posted my monthly favourites, so that's why none of them were in that.

I got another colour tattoo in a more wearable colour for school. I got it in Bold Gold (i think, don't take my word!) 

Words cannot describe how excited i was to get this! The Naked 2 palette! The colours are amazing, and so is the lipgloss which smells (and tastes) like mint!

I also got the Rimmel Apocalips lip laquer in the shade 303 "Apocalips". Its seriously bright, and I might chicken out whenever I wear it...

The last thing I got is a Revlon Lipgloss in the shade Hot Pink. I love this. Its a super wearable colour and is actually like my lip colour, but better. Love this!

First Thoughts: Rimmel Apocalips

Hey Huns!
A First Thoughts post for you all today! At the minute, Rimmel are advertising the new Apocalips Lip Laquer, and me being the sheep I am when it comes to lipstick & lipgloss, I bought one. I bought it in the shade 303 "Apocalips". When I first put it on, the smell is lovely! It's a hot pink colour, goes on like a lipgloss but doesn't feel like one - in my opinion - and the colour is just so vibrant and pigmented. It's such a beautiful bright pink colour and although its too bright for school, for a party it's going to be lovely with a neutral eyeshadow. At first i was a bit scared to wear this colour, but have gotten used to the brightness. So you are warned! If you don't like wearing bright lipglosses and lipsticks, then this isn't the shade for you. But what I will be doing is going back and getting one in the colour "Luna" which is more a neutral nude colour, perfect for everyday wear, school etc.

So I wanna let you guys know a bit more about me by doing a 20 facts about me post. 
Here goes!

1. I am currently doing Grade V (5) on the piano.

2. I paint my nails every Sunday.

3. I love superheroes.

4. I love movies full stop. 

5. I am a huge fan of The Hunger Games and was completely obsessed with it last year ( I still am) and I am counting down the days to Catching Fire (230 days!!!!)

6. I listen to my iPod every night before I go to sleep.

7. I am cocooned when I sleep. Literally the sheet, duvet, and five hundred blankets. 

8. I love llamas & unicorns.

9. My favourite animals are penguins.

10. My favourite colour in the whole entire world is pink and has been my whole life.

11. My hair looks black but is actually a really dark brown.

12. I started my blog last summer.

13. I wear fluffy socks whenever I'm at home.

14. I suffer from migraines.

15. I wear odd socks most of the time.

16. I can cook pancakes (they're my speciality)

17. I am addicted to Twitter.

18. I laugh at the stupidest jokes.

19. This year so far, I have tripped, slipped or fallen over at school about five times.

20. I wanna be a unicorn when I grow up.

Movie Star Makeup

Hey huns!
This post is inspired by Hollywood icons such as Elizabeth Taylor, Audrey Hepburn and Marilyn Monroe. They are iconic for bright red lips and winged eyeliner. So here's my go at trying to look as good as those Hollywood beauts!

So what I did was sweep light pink blush across the cheeks to give your cheeks a defined look. Then, the winged eyeliner (which is blurred in the picture - oops) Followed by the iconic red lipstick. 

MWAH!

I don't know about you guys, but I actually love messing about with PicMonkey effects! Its like the Andy Warhol pop art of Marilyn!
