Monthly Obsessions #1

Hey huns!
So this month has gone SO quick! Its nearly Easter and next thing you know, BAM summer exams. Uh oh.
Anyway, I haven't had many beauty favourites this month to be totally honest, (probably doesn't help that I had so many last month...) but as far as YouTubers, books and movies go, I have had a lot.

First is They're Real mascara by Benefit. I have more than likely mentioned this in previous favourites post, but I have fallen back in love with this mascara! I need to get a big one, because all I have are two mini ones. I find the smaller ones are hard to use if I'm totally honest.

Again, probably mentioned in a post before (I'm not really original this month - the downside of not going to superdrug) but this is the Urban Decay matte eyeshadow in "Naked". This is handy for school which is my main reason for including it.
I included the caramel cream one of the nivea lip butters in last months favourites. I bought the Vanilla and Macedamia one on St Patricks day and OhEmGod. Smells amazing! The caramel one can leave a bit of a white colour to your lips if you put on too much, but other than that, its light and is great for moisturising your lips.

So first we have those portable cup things. They keep your tea warm for over half an hour which is great because I drink about 6 cups of tea a day... Next we have a pink pen. I love love love pink and writing in pink makes me happy. :) nuff said.
And then we have a mockingjay pin which I got last year but have fallen back in love with. Its just like Katniss' in the Hunger Games.

I love this movie. It's full of action and drama and was just fun to watch! Its on sky movies at the minute, so if you have movies, you should watch it!

I read the book series 3 times and watched the movie a bagillion times (thats more that a kabillion) and I am falling back in love with it again. I'm reading the books once more and watched the movies 3 times over the holidays. I can't wait for Catching Fire (out November 22) and if you haven't read the books, you should. I find that if you didn't read the books, you might be a bit confused. I saw it when it first came out with my friends and they kept asking what was going on throughout. And because of reading the books so many times, I understood it.

A quick shoutout
There is a new blogger called Sophie whose blog is converseobsession11 and I'm sure it would make her day if you checked out her blog! She does posts on beauty, hauls etc. so it really is worth reading.

Operation Inspiration!

Hey huns!
Lately I have been reading quotes and alot of them made me feel good and gave me that warm and fuzzy feeling haha! So I decided to make a quote collage for that little bit of inspiration. All you need is coloured card/paper, scissors, glue and quotes!

You just cut around the quotes, glue them down and now you have a quote collage! I'm sticking it up on my wall. :)
Hope you guys liked it!

Dr Kate

Hey huns!
Dr Kate back with another post! So today it's friendships.

Maybe some of you have that one friend that you can spend so much time with, not run out of stuff to talk about and never, EVER fight. Grand & righty-o, no need to give advice on that.

Next we have those friends that are good friends, but you can fight and when you fight, its bad. We all have those days. I know it's hard, but try and talk it out, say how you feel, especially if that friend means something. If they don't want to talk to you, then let them mellow for a bit, calm down, think it through, then try again. Or get a friend to pass the message on. Whatever works.

We also have the "friends" that only go to you & act friendly when they need homwork or whatever. When this happens to me, I say no. End of. Because if you don't alot of the time you wind up being their go to gal for homework. You're better than someone that can just be used for school work.

Ex-best friends. A lot of us have one, sadly. So it will be awkward in the hall, but everyone does move on.

So hope this was an ok Dr Kate post.

(p.s, I am not a real doctor, just so you know.) (p.p.s, This is my advice, no-one elses,k?)

Easter Collab

Hey huns!
So Grace, Gaby, Jane and I are doing an Easter collab! It's sort of like a short series of posts to do with Easter hair, makeup, nails & outfits. We  all have a set day ( mine being the first ) so make sure to check out their blogs on their days which I will post below. :)

Originally, it had been one set thing each, but then we all agreed we would do more than one, so I chose hair and outfit! For the hair, I decided to do a fishtail braid but it was to hard to photograph. Instead, I did a quick video. (whether or not it works is another thing, so there's a photo underneath)

For the otfit I was inspired by soft colours for spring and Easter. For some reason, the colour cream and lace just scream spring to me. Its a very casual look that can be dressed up with a pair of heels and straight hair. ( well I think so )

Dress: Penneys
Shoes: New Look
Tights: Dunnes
Denim Jacket: Its Mams so I don't know!

And I thought I'd add the picture of the sky because it looks so bright and springy.

Hope you enjoyed this post, and make sure to check out the rest.
Jane is posting on Wednesday (tomorrow).
Grace is posting on Thursday.
Gaby is posting on Friday.

So make sure and check out their blogs. Click their names for the links!

Hope you enjoyed!

Movie Inspired Make-Up

Hey huns!
This will be the first of some movie inspired makeup tutorials. The first one is an Effie Trinket inspired tutorial (don't ask why). Played by Elizabeth Banks, Effie is the escort for the District 12 tributes, Katniss Everdeen and Peeta Mellark. I was a little obsessed with the books and then the movie came out... I saw it three times in the cinema, and have watched it many times on DVD too. A "little obsessed" is a bit of an understatement... Anyway o
n with the tutorial.
And may the odds be ever in your favour!

First I applied my MAC lipstick in Milan Mode then my Revlon lip butter in Sweet tart.

I then put on some of my Catrice eyeshadow (i know, but I don't have any gold lipstick - do you?) at the inner part of my lips which gives the sort of lips Effie has in the movie.

So that is it m'dears! It was fun, easy and quick to do.

The Shopaholic Tag!

Hey huns!
BeautyBaby44 did this video and it was made up by Alana at WWelcometomycloset. I thought this would be fun to do so here goes!

1. Would you consider yourself a shopaholic?
Yes. I actually dream about going shopping if I haven't been in two weeks....

2. How would you classify your style?

I actually don't really think I could classify my style! I wear whatever I feel. Somedays it can be super quirky, girly, edgy etc.

3. What store can you not leave without buying

at least one thing?
Penneys. Or Superdrug. Or H&M. I feel hard done by if I don't get anything when I'm in these shops.

4. Where do you find the best deals?

Penneys & H&M. They are the motherships when it comes to deals. And Superdrug always have better prices than other shops that shall not be named...

5. What designer are you willing to splurge for?

Does Hollister, Abercrombie, Vans etc count?

6. Do you have a go to shopping outfit?

No. As i said in question 2, I wear what I feel! But because this is Ireland, I usually have to wear a coat or jacket.

7. What is your guilty pleasure? (Not including makeup)

Shoes, jeans and dresses. I cleared my wardrobe out last year, and I found so many shoes that I haven't worn in YEARS. I have so many pairs of jeans that I wear all the time! Never can have too much jeans! And I seem to really love dresses... My longing hanging part of my wardrobe is full of dresses.

8. What is one staple clothing piece you cannot live without?

Jeans! They are so easy to wear, style etc. And they are super comfy.

9. What is a trend you hope never goes out of style?

Skinny jeans because I don't think I could ever adapt to flared or bootcut jeans. They just wouldn't look right with vans or cons. Think about it.

10. What trend did you love that passed way to quickly?

Denim shirts. They were HUGE last S/S, although they are sort of making a comeback with denim with patterned blouse sleeves.

11. Who is your fashion icon?

I love Taylor Swifts style. She has a casual look and has a young style too. I also get inspiration from blogger and YouTubers OOTD, OOTW etc.

That was such a fun post to do! So I tag:

Hope you enjoyed this post.

St Patricks Day, Quick Haul, Easter Collab???

Hey huns!
So a quick post on this lovely bank holiday Monday. Yesterday was St Patricks day. I went to my paraid aitiúil (local parade) with my friends. We pretty much walked up and down the mainstreet 4 times before getting something to eat and watching the parade from the window. The parade wasn't that good, but it was great craic with my friends. I went to Penneys and I FINALLY found a pair of dark pink jeans!!!! (post relating to this to come) I was over the moon, and they were just 15 euros which was a bonus! Then we went to Superdrug, where I also finally got a Maybelline colour tattoo! It is in turquoise forever and I am happy. I also got the Macedamia & Vanilla Nivea lip butter which smells UH-MAZING.

Ok so last thing for my lovely fellow beauty bloggers, I was wondering some of you would like to do a few collaboration posts over Easter? I don't mean guest posts I mean like 2/3/4 of us do the same post but in different ways. For example, we all do a morning routine and post it (we won't because I know a lot of blogs have already done theirs). So whaddya think? Leave a comment below if you're interested!

St Patricks Day Outfit & Make-Up

Hey Huns!
So here is a St Patricks Day outfit and makeup post! Sorry I wasn't able to put the pictures as I wanted to, (the cons of blogger on my iPod) the pics will be below instead.
Anyway! So the outfit!
I am wearing!
• black Vans
• penneys denim shorts
• Shamrock tights from Dunnes
• Plain green tee
• New Look green hoodie
• River Island jeans

For this outfit, I found the tights at Dunnes coz they're adorable! :3 I would like to wear these, but with Ireland's history and typical weather, I think I'm gonna just wear my jeans sadly. :(

• Benefit mini pallet from She's so Jetset
• Bourjois eyeliner
• Rimmel White eyeliner
• Maybelline The Rocket Mascara

For the makeup, I used a mini Benefit "pallet" that came in the She's So Jetset set that I got at Christmas. Then I used a Bourjois eyeliner for my lid and underneath my water line. I used white eyeliner on my water line to highlight my eyes and to finish it off I used Maybellines the Rocket Mascara.

Hope you guys liked this tutorial! I will definitely be using these ideas for tomorrow. Talk to you guys in my next post!

DIY Domingo: phone cover

Hey huns! SO! another DIY Domingo for yous to enjoy! I came up with the idea to do this because I wanted a new phone cover, but my phone isn't very popular like the iPhone. Its a HTC and has a weird curve at the bottom, so I had to buy my cover on Amazon (shame, they have no nice ones only plain or tacky ones.) I saw a thing on YouTube before for iPhones, so I thought why not try it for this! You can do this for any phone, and it best works with a clear cover. Mine is a pinky-clear one. The great thing about this is the fact that you can change it whenever you want.

Hope you liked this post! It took literally 5 minutes to do and was well worth it.

February Favourites!

Hey huns!

So today I have my February favourites and I have had a lot this month so enjoy xx

First in the eye category I have Maybelline's new The Rocket Volum Express mascara. With one coat this really lengthens my lashes. love it! Next in the eye category I have my eyelash curlers from superdrug. I think that this eyelash curler is pretty good & really makes me want to try the more expensive & higher reguarded ones. It does lengthen my lashes but doesn't seem to keep them really curly for long. And finally I have the Catrice made to stay cream eyeshadow in "Copper&Gabanna". As the name says, it really does stay all day! I wear it to school because it is such a neutral colour and by 9:30pm when I'm washing my make up off before bed, it's still there, as good as when I put it on in the morning.

SO! First in the face category is the Maybelline Fit Me liquid concealer in the shade 15. This is my first liquid concealer, and I really can say it is far better than any coverstick I've ever tried. The colour is really good for my skin, and it gives me really good coverage all day. The next product is the Bourjeois powder(i have no idea how to spell it - lo siento) In the shade 52. Its made with some sort of fruit therapy and it eliminates shine quite well! If I'm ever having a lazy day all I have to do is put a tiny bit of concealer and a bit of powder and it gives me great coverage even then.

FIRST of all I forgot to take a photo of my Nivea lip butter in Caramel Cream because it was in my uniform pocket and I forgot...
I love the lipbalm. It really smells like caramel and ermahgerd I just love it! Super moisterising too. ♥
Next we have the Revlon lip butter (i reviewed it before) in Sweet Tart. I think. This is like a lip balm and slides on my lips like butter! It feels so melty and moisturising and I am in love with the colour. Then I have the Lush lipstick/mascara/eyeliner. It can actually be used as all of those! I use it as a lip stain mostly though. Its really pigmented and is a lovely berry colour. It doesn't dry out your lips and it's just amazebeans.
Finally, we have the MAC lipstick in Milan Mode which I got earlier in the month. I swear I have used so much of this lipstick. I put it on my lips and blend it in for going to school. It has great stay and is a neutral color (when you blend it in) for school and put the Nivea lip butter over it.

Oh and I saw this ad which seriously made my day! Enjoy x

So that is it for this months favourites! Hope you enjoyed and said "white rabbit white rabbit white rabbit" yesterday for good luck. I know I did!
