Christmas Eve OOTD

Hey huns!
So today is a very special day.

It's CHRISTMAS EVE!
Today is sure to be very busy, and you have no idea how bleeding excited I am for tomorrow! The food, gift exchanging, family!

But first we must get through today. And so far, today has been busy enough!

I am apart of a choir/opera group, and we performed on our local radio station at 10am! It was so fun, and even though it was only for a few songs, it definitely got me into the festive mood!

Then, I had to pick up the last part of my brothers present. I got him a mug that says 'Geology Rocks' (Geddit). :')

Now I am home, and here is my OOTD!

Jumper: Penneys
Skirt: H&M
Tights: Penneys

Cutout boots: New Look

Merry Christmas and I hope you have a wonderful day!

The Christmas Tag

Hey huns!
So I was tagged by the lovely Jane to do the Christmas tag! I've been extremely busy lately with Christmas exams and just life in general, but I knew that as soon as I could that this would be the first post I would HAVE to do! On with the tag!

What is your favourite Christmas film?
The Santa Clause has been a favourite of mine for many, many years. It's so cheesy and cute! I also am a huge fan of The Polar Express and The Snowman.
Have you ever had a White Christmas?
We did actually, when I was younger! It was magical, and what made it even more magical was that our cat made footprints and we thought they were reindeer foot prints! I also remember having a snowball fight with my older brother and my uncle, which of course was great fun!
Where do you usually spend the holidays?
At home! We always have my granda and uncle around for dinner, which is nice. My aunts and cousins usually come over but last year, we all went to my grandas which was lovely! I hope we do that again this year also because I love having the family all together.
What is your favourite Christmas song?
I love Wizzards 'I Wish It Could Be Christmas Everyday'! Anything by Michael Buble is just lovely, his Christmas album is great. I also love 'O Holy Night'  and other pretty carols.

What holiday traditions are you looking forward to most this year?
I'm looking forward to spending time with family! Also, on Christmas Eve it's a tradition that my brother and I get new pyjamas from our parents, and after that we always open one present each. I also love looking at the NORAD Santa Tracker, because even though I'm past that age, it still gets me in the mood and feeling Christmassy!

Is your Christmas tree real or fake?
We used to always have a real tree, but we changed the one in our sitting room to a fake one about seven or eight years ago. Although, this year, we put a real tree in the conservatory for the lovely smell! I named him Pepe!
What is your all-time favorite holiday food/sweet treat?
My mother, if I do say so myself, is an amazing cook. She always makes BEAUTIFUL spiced beef which is my favourite on Christmas Day, (I'm getting hungry thinking about it!) and she also makes an amazing tiramisu for dessert.

Be honest: do you like giving gifts or receiving gifts better?
I love shopping and giving gifts. I always feel as if the effort and hard work you put into buying or making that gift for someone is all worth it when you give it to them. I especially love buying for my Mam (no harm to my brother or dad, but man are they difficult to buy for!), because I always try to surprise her with something totally different every year! And I always know that she is greatly appreciative of them, which gives me that lovely warm fuzzy feeling. I'm not gonna lie, I do love getting gifts, and to choose between them is definitely a tough question!

What is the best Christmas gift you’ve ever received?
Hmmmm... this is a tough one! I love all the gifts I get every year, but last year, my parents replaced a charm bracelet which I had sadly lost. I wear that bracelet as much as I can because I just know that it will have great sentimental value in the future!
What would be your dream place to visit for the holiday season?
Call me cliché, but I have to say New York. I have never been to New York, but it's on my bucket list to go there at Christmas! The lights look fantastic, and Christmas seems to be so OTT, which is any Christmas lovers dream!

Are you a pro-present wrapper, or do you fail miserably?
I'd like to think that I am not a pro, but more intermediate! I can be pretty decent at wrapping presents, but I always tend to miscalculate the amount of wrapping paper I'll need... oops!
Most memorable holiday moment?
I don't think I could honestly choose one! Although, when I was about seven years old I couldn't sleep because I was so excited, and this then kept all of my family up all night. I laugh at it now, but I'd say my parents weren't too impressed at the time!

What made you realise the truth about Santa?
Santa was real though?? He was that dude who went around putting coins in peoples socks! And also, he is real in the hearts of millions of children around the world.

Do you make New Years resolutions? Do you stick to them?
I don't usually, but this year I have!

What makes the holidays special for you?
The fact that my family are all at home, even if it is for a short period of time. Both of my parents work and my brother is at uni, so I spend a lot of time with the dogs! I can't wait to sit down and spend time with my family.

This was a fun post to do! I won't tag anyone, because I'd say everyone has probably done it at this stage :P
I hope you enjoyed this post, and I'll *hopefully* be back with a Christmas Eve OOTD tomorrow!

New Hair, New Me

Hey Huns!
So back about a month ago I took the plunge and got my hair chopped.

And honestly, it's been one of the best decisions I've ever made.
Before

Originally, my hair was pretty long (as you can see in the picture). I walked into my regular hairdressers on Halloween, sat down in the chair and told my regular hairdresser what I wanted. Her reaction was hilarious.
"Are you SURE?"
Of course I answered with yes, even though at this point I don't think I actually was sure.

The hairdresser tied my hair in a pony tail and chopped off the awful-barely-ombre ends of my hair. It was weird seeing it all gone, yet refreshing.

The next part of what happened was the usual: wash, blow dry and blunt trimming at the ends like I asked for. When it was all done, I felt like a brand new person.

My friends were absolutely shocked because I didn't tell them. And to be honest, I was sort of shocked every time I caught my reflection.
After (my hair is a bit past the shoulder but my head is to the side so it looks longer in this photo. Also, this was my Halloween makeup, what do you think?)

So what's the point of this post?
Well, I just want to say that if you're thinking of getting your hair cut short, do it! My hair now feels healthier, is easier to handle and is quicker in the mornings and I feel more mature and confident with my hair like this.
I hope you enjoyed this post!

London Beauty Haul

Hey huns!
So over the first weekend of the mid term, I went to London to visit family. While there, I did a HELL of a lot of shopping (how could I not?) and I thought I would just share the beauty bits and bobs that I picked up.

The first thing I picked up were these Tanya Burr eyelashes in 'Pretty Lady'. I didn't even intend on buying these, and when I bought them was actually the first day that they were releases!

I didn't really know where I was going to wear them, but I might actually be going to my school debs after party, so I'll definitely wear them then!

I also went to Kiko, and I just had to buy this lipstick.

In case you haven't realised, it's black.

I love Kiko lipsticks in general, and I've been wanting a black one for quite some time! The pigmentation is beautiful, it has great durability and it's easy to take off which is a plus as it doesn't stain! I wore this on Halloween and it worked out great!

I also picked up a Kiss Balm from Kiko. The packaging is uber cute and it has just the slightest hint of pink when I wear it. Perfect for school!

I also bought a new mascara as I was in dire need of getting one. This one is The Falsies Flared mascara by Maybelline and so far I'm loving it!

(Excuse the weird hand pose)
I also picked up a black Essie nail polish in 'Luxedo'. Essie nail polishes never fail to disappoint and I can't wait to wear this during winter!

I also took a trip to MAC, where I got my makeup done. The lady recommended this shade which is NW13. I love it! It stays on all day and is a perfect match for my skin tone.

I also picked up a MAC lipstick in 'Impassioned'. I love this colour and have worn it almost every single day since I bought it!

I also got a mineralize powder to go with the foundation. I love this one because the packaging (as usual) is so sleek and there's a mirror on the inside which is perfect for taking on the go!

I hope you enjoyed this little beauty haul and I shall speak to you in my next blogpost!

An Autumn OOTD

Hey huns!
So I know I haven't blogged in a long time, but today I'm back with an OOTD!

The photos were taken a day before I had my hair cut, so that is why my hair is still long!

Mom Jeans: River Island
Turtleneck: Stolen from my mothers closet
(sorry mom)

For this day, I was just going to my friends house to watch movies. I thought this outfit was appropriate because it was cosy, comfortable and felt at least a bit more dressed up than normal!

I hope you enjoyed this post! I hope to make more outfit posts like this in the coming weeks.

Even though we're back to school again, it just means we are one  step closer to Christmas! I can't wait to start blogging for Christmas and already I've started planning what posts I am going to do!

Haul

Hey huns!
So today I am here with a sort of mini haul! I went shopping last week and picked up a few things which I am IN LOVE with!

The first thing I picked up was this beautiful dress from New Look. I was walking past the shop when I saw it in the window and I just had to get it! The pattern is absolutely beaitiful and the colour is perfect for Autumn and Winter. Paired with some black boots, this is definitely going to be a favouite of mine for the rest of this year!

The next thing I got was a pair of mom jeans from River Island. They were a bit pricey at €50, but I wore them yesterday and I just absolutely love them! Now all I need is a nice black jumper to go with them...

(excuse the fact that the strap of my camera is in this last photo)

The last place I went was Topshop. I have the white version of this top from the tall section and I've been eyeing up this one for ages (even though it isn't a tall one). Although it is no longer crop top season, I just know I'm going to find lots of ways to incorporate this top into my outfits. It's also a great winter colour.

So that is my mini haul, I hope you enjoyed!

A heart to heart...

Hey Huns,
So today I am here with more of a serious post rather than the usual beauty posts that I haven't been posting.

Earlier this week, I put every single video on my YouTube channel on private. I did this through the total and utter fear of someone in my new year finding it. I know, that I shouldn't be afraid of something like this happening, but I just feel that I would be made fun of if someone found my channel and spread it about that I had one.

I also have started 5th year, and let me just say it is full on. I find myself doing my homework until after 9pm, and I have that on top of practice for grade seven piano and grade six singing. I barely have time to tweet, never mind trying to film videos!

Don't get me wrong though, I absolutely love making videos. But I don't want to make videos if I haven't put 100% time and effort into making them look the way I want. I just feel that I can't put my all into what I want to do, which makes me sad.

So you're probably thinking at this stage, "where are you going with this?"
Basically, I'm thinking of giving up on YouTube. I haven't thought it through 100% just yet, so I may continue with it. I may also just consider taking a break and focus more on blogging, which I LOVE and haven't been doing as much lately. I plan on doing more outfit posts among other things.

What do you think of this situation (if you could even call it that)?

Where have I been?

Hey huns!

So as the question states, where have I been?
I last posted in August, the 7th of August to be exact, and since then I've been quite busy.

Throughout the whole month of August, I spent a lot of time with my friends having sleepovers and just hanging out in general. My parents were also off so I spent a lot of time doing family stuff (including a 10k walk which killed my hips). I went to a wedding, which was great fun and was my first wedding ever.

The month of August is usually a month of prepping for school (mentally as well as actually purchasing things). I was busy getting books and stationary and my uniform, which is actually quite time consuming.

I also went to see the Janoskians who were AMAZING. This was in fact the night before school started so  I was going around my first day of school on 4 hours sleep.
Totally worth it though.

I am now also in 5th year of secondary school, which is pretty full on if I do say so myself. I don't think I've ever had as much homework as I do now! Currently, I have a lot of music homework which I should really be doing, but anywho...

Yesterday was my birthday, Yes, sweet 16 as the helium balloons my mother so kindly bought me said (I loved that surprise). I spent two days with my friends and had a lovely meal with my family and friends. I also watched half of Barbarella, which was hilariously silly.

I'm not making excuses for not blogging. I just want to explain why I just haven't gotten around to getting back into my blogging mojo. I hope now to blog at least once a week or every two weeks, if I can.

Hope you haven't missed me too much!

July Favourites

Hey huns!
The month of July absolutely flew by (probably because I was away for three weeks of it)!
Last month, I didn't try out too many new products, but out of the ones I did, these are my favourites.

The first favourite is a hairspray. Hairspray is quite an alien thing for me to use, but I was going to curl my hair about two weeks ago (I didn't in the end up) and a friend of mine said I should try this one. As I have said, I was away so when my fringe became so long that I could barely see out of it, I had to think of something as there was one more formal event before we all returned home. With this, I managed to split my fringe to look presentable, and the hairspray kept it looking like this for the whole night without my fringe looking crispy! I also used it when I curled my hair last Saturday and it worked SO WELL with my curls also!

The next thing is a cream highlighter by Nyx. I absolutely love this! It gives such a natural pretty glow to my cheekbones, and also, there is no need for a brush!

This is also a product by Nyx, which is there Photogenic Concealer. I got this to cancel out the redness on my nose, and it does exactly that! I am so impressed as it keeps my Rudolph nose at bay all day.

This next favourite is by Real Techniques and is their retractable kabuki brush. I bought this solely to put on my bronzer, and I love it! It applies and blends my bronzer perfectly, is so soft and the fact that it is retractable makes it extremely handy for travelling.

Another Nyx product! This is their Jumbo Eye Pencil in 'Cottage Cheese' (the name is icky, I know). I had intended on getting the one in 'Milk', but the pharmacy I was in - Bradley's Pharmacy in Blanchardstown,  if you are wondering - were all sold out of it! I decided to buy this instead and I am so glad I did.
This eyeliner is soft, which makes it easy to apply to my water line. It also brightens up my eyes which was good as I was up every morning for the past three weeks at 7am!

Last Nyx product - I promise!!!
This is a Butter Gloss in the shade 'Peaches and Cream' and I am absolutely in love with this lip gloss!
It has a doe foot application and the lip gloss itself applies creamily - it isn't sticky at all! The colour pay off is fantastic as the lip gloss is so opaque. I really want to try more of these Butter Glosses!

This next lip product is by MAC and it is their collaboration with Rihanna.
I have been on the hunt for a good red lipstick for a while now, and when I was in the MAC shop in Dublin, I swatched Ruby Woo but didn't like it as much as I thought I would. I then saw this and have been in love with it ever since! It is (in my opinion) the perfect red lipstick! It has a great colour opacity, it isn't drying and the packaging is amazing!

The second to last item is a powder by Bourjois and it is their Poudre de Riz de Java powder - I think.
I bought this powder as my other Bourjois powder shattered and crumbled and I needed a new one!
This powder smells amazing and is translucent so there is no room for looking orange. It's a very light powder and therefore there is also no room for caking.

The final item (phew!) is the Sleek Contour Kit. I haven't been using the highlighter as much, but what I have been using is the bronzer. It looks a bit dark in the pan, but when I blend it into my skin it contours perfectly!

So that is my very long favourites post for July! I hope you enjoyed.
I'll see you in my next video or blogpost!

Inactivity

Hey Huns!
I do realise I have been really inactive on my blog, youtube and twitter lately.

I went to a camp sort of thing for three weeks (best three weeks of my life holla) and wasn't able to blog or do anything because I was so busy.

Hopefully now I'll get back into blogging and youtube mojo and I'll be right on track again. I'm going to minimise posting to about twice a week and posting to youtube about once a week because I have many things going on this month (and I thought I was going to have a boring summer).

Travel Essentials

Hey huns!
As I mentioned in my update video, I am going away for a long weekend to England! I am super excited because this time, two of my best friends are coming along also!

I absolutely LOVE travelling - there's just something so exciting about jumping on a plane or going for huge car journeys to Italy (sadly, I haven't been on a huge car journey like that for four years).

I have been looking forward to this ever since we had planned it which was a few months ago.

Because I go on planes and travel a good bit, I thought I would share my travelling essentials!

Books & Magazines
This is an absolute must for me. You never know, your flight might be delayed, or your phone or iPod may die. Or if you're like me you might just want to read.

Clear Plastic Bag with necessary liquids
Obviously a must, considering it's the law to put your liquids in a clear plastic bag for flying on a plane. Also, making sure that your liquids are under 100ml. This is the makeup that I am taking, such as my CC cream, lipstick and my essential, Carmex.

Camera
Yeah, phone cameras can be good quality, but a lot of phones lose battery quickly, and you do not want to be stuck in a foreign place with a dead phone. Also, there's more space on a digital or DSLR camera, so you can snap and video 'til your hearts content!

Purse & Money
Obviously, you'll need money! I adore this purse from Cath Kidston because it has so many pockets and places to put cards.

Hairbrush
My hair gets SUPER knotty when it comes in contact with the elements, so this seriously is a must for me.

Glasses
I don't know about you, but my eyesight is awful. I take these glasses absolutely everywhere I go, because I never know when I'm going to need them! The box is also terribly distorted due to being crushed by the weight of my school books.

CD's
I find that music always makes a car journey better. I'm bringing CD's like Lorde and a mix CD for the journey to the airport.

Bits and Bobs
Tissues, chewing gum, hair grips and a hair bobble.
Boring, I know.

And of course you will need a bag to put everything into! I love this bag from Penneys/Primark, because although it looks quite small on the exterior, it has so much room on the inside! Also, it has a cross body strap which seriously saves my shoulder and arms from getting sore.

So those are my travel essentials! I hope you enjoyed this post, and I shall see you in my next video or blog post.
Bye!

P.S I'm obsessed with this song and so should you.
